Church (Players) reimagines the idea of church through a gathering of iconic figures from Blaxploitation cinema. Traditionally a place of worship, fellowship, and spiritual guidance, church becomes a space to examine what we choose to honor and devote ourselves to. Through themes of faith, wealth, power, and worldly desire, the painting invites viewers to consider what they worship and where they place their faith.
